Hey everyone, today I'm doing a review on Mattify Cosmetics and because I have multiple products to review I'm going to split it up into two posts.
This first post will be over the blush and eyeshadow.
Full disclosure, I was sent these products at no cost to myself but will not let this affect my review in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.
First off, all these products are powders and fairly drying as the name of the company would suggest. Their main goal is to create products for oily skin that on't flake off or melt off as the day wears on.
I was also sent a sample size of their Mattify Ultra, a powder to place on top of foundation to precent oily skin slippage. I avoided this product as the package said to avoid use if you have dry or sensitive skin, as I do.
The blush color was in Harmony, a coral/peach color with orange undertones. I had difficulty blending this shade out simply because it was soooo pigmented. A little goes a long way folks! This color also didn't suit my skin tone very well as my undertones are more pink. However, it is a beautiful color and on the right skin tone would really look great. On the swatch below you can really see how pigmented it is, as well as my attempts to blend it out. Oh well, it's still super pretty!
The eyeshadow I received was in the shade Woodland Fairy. It's a nice warm brown shade with subtle silver and blue sparkles laced in with the powder. It was easy to apply when placed over a primer and was remarkably difficult to remove even with a makeup remover cloth. I really loved the color and use it as a warm crease shade when I want to add a little sparkle to my look. The swatch below is on my forearm and you can really see how pigmented this shadow is for a loose shadow. I've never had a shadow stay put so well, and be so pigmented from an Etsy store.
