Mattify Cosmetics Etsy Review Pt. 2

Hello everyone! Thanks for taking the time to read my blog and this second part of our two part review of Mattify Cosmetics.

Once again, in the effort of full disclosure, I was sent these products at no cost to me but I won't allow this to influence my review in any way. All opinions shared are mine and mine alone.

So, let's get started!

In this final review we're going to look at their Highlighter and Contouring Bronzer. Both products are loose mineral powders and fairly easy to pick up with a big fluffy brush. The products are designed to stay put even on oily skin and help absorb excess oil as the day wears on.

The highlighter is almost a powder version of Benefit's 'Watt's Up!' It's a nice champagne color with heavy shimmer. It's almost a bit of a shimmer bomb, but as a night time highlight it would work really well. It could also work well as a highlight to be used with the new strobing trend! I would recommend this color to people who have a bit more of a tan and cooler complexion than I do, seeing as I am literally translucent and the color clashed a tad with my coloring.
The packaging comes in a basic mineral powder case with a cap and small sifter to dispense the powder in small, workable amounts. Also, the package comes with a ridiculous amount of product! So much that you probably could use just one case for 2-3 years depending on how much you use day to day. This company is intense with the amount of product in a case.

All in all, the soft texture and finely milled powder felt really nice on the skin. It was soft, delicate, and almost felt as if there was nothing on my face when I wore it. Another benefit to these products is that you don't need to put on a foundation or primer prior to applying the product to make it stick. They attach really well to bare skin and stay put all day, even through blood, sweat, and/or tears.

The bronzer was a nice matte tan color, with tiny flecks of shimmer, but not enough to take away from the matte tone of the product. It has warmer undertones that typically don't work well with my skin, but I can acknowledge that the color is really nice and the product has been made with care.
Like the highlighter, it's been finely milled and is very soft when applied. It also comes in the same packaging with a small sifter and cap. I love these mineral packages as I find it to ease in application by not allowing for too much product to get on the brush and overwhelming the face.

The color almost instantly sticks and refuses to move or blend out past about thirty seconds of application.  This is good if you have oily skin and have a problem with products staying, but makes blending out harsh lines (a must for contouring) an issue. You have to work really fast to get any type of blend and softness from this product and there's quite a learning curve. This is not a contour for beginners.

Highlight and Contour Ingredients: Mica, Kaolin Clay, Corn Starch, Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Iron Oxide, Boron Nitride, Tin Oxide.

You can find them on their websiteTwitterPinterest, and Etsy.

Thanks for reading and be sure to check us out next week!
