Vice 3 by Urban Decay Palette Review

Hello beauty fanatics! Today we're going to be talking about the Vice 3 palette by Urban Decay. A palette I had wanted for some time but that I couldn't justify the purchase. Luckily, I was gifted it for Christmas! 

As always, let's look at the packaging first. The case has a mirrored finish with some watercoloring on the top with a jeweled plastic 'Vice' in a bright green. It's nice to look at but has a tendency to gather fingerprints and dust, so as with the Naked 1 palette I suggest you keep it in a safe space if you are concerned with how the outside will look over time. 

The inside showcases 20 new shades in rows of four oriented from neutrals (left), jewel tones (middle) and smokey shades (right). They are situated in a plain black case that allows the colors to really pop. There's also a large mirror on the inside cover.

The first row of colors, the more neutral shades, are a nice step away from the overall shimmery feel of the Naked palettes. Truth is a nice pale pink matte color that works well as a base or just a wash of color for a basic look. Undone is a basic light beige shade with some pink undertones. Pairs nicely with Truth in the crease. Downfall is a deeper color with nice warmth. Works well in place of Undone with Truth. DTF is a deep mauve with taupe tones. A truly beautiful color. Dragon is one of the jewel tones. It is a nice bright green that I find hard to work into every day looks, but is nice when I want a pop of different color. Freeze is a light cool blue with glitter. It's very shimmery and nice as an accent color, but can be overwhelming over the entire lid. Heroine is a deep navy blue color with some subtle shimmer. A nice crease color for some more dramatic looks. Brokedown is a metallic golden brown with some golden glitter flecks. This is one of my favorite colors in the entire palette because of it's versatility. Vanity is a plum purple with some shimmer that looks nice when applied and paired with a neutral. Lucky is a metallic bronze copper color that I find I reach for when I'm looking for a pop of color, but don't want to use a green or blue. Reign is a rich brown color with some subtle shimmer that works well as a crease color, or blends out to be a nice lid cover color. Bobby Dazzle is a bright metallic white with white glitter crystals. It looks beautiful in the inner corner of the eye to brighten up the entire look. 

Alien is a bright magenta shade with peach and golden undertones. Alchemy is a deeper magenta color that stains nicely on the lid. Works well as a crease color. Bondage is a beautiful shade that mixes some black and burgundy tones with a light shimmer. Sonic is an interesting color, with metallic red shimmer. It's a color you usually don't see every day and looks really interesting on the eye. Last Sin is another color I really love in this palette, It's a champagne color with silver glitter, it works nicely into every day looks while adding a little pop of shimmer. Angel is another really cool color, it's a light taupe color with silver glitter that blends out really nicely on the eye. Defy is a smokey taupe that is sort of matte, but stains well. Revolver is a typical Urban Decay end shade. It's a soft black satin color with some slight shimmer that works well as an eyeliner.

 The palette also comes with a dual ended brush. Both are fluffy ended and not at all similar to those found in the Naked palettes. One end is quite long and nicely tapered while the other is a fluffy applicator end.

Overall I think this is a great palette for wanting to start using some color here and there while mixing in some neutrals. It's a beautiful palette for the price. 

The palette retails for $60 and can be found at the Urban Decay Website. Because it was a limited release item, Sephora and Ulta no longer carry it.
